The Bird

I've had this image in my head for a while. My sewing machine that I use for applique has been giving me grief, so I was reluctant to even attempt it for fear that it would be 'eaten' by my fickle piece of modern plastic machinery. Well it made it all the way to the stippling top stitch before it went on a rampage. Thankfully my wonderful old blue metal clunker machine came to the rescue! God bless the sewing machine craftsmanship of the 1950's!

Very nice! Is that a wall hanging? Did you come up with the pattern yourself? I've been thinking about a quilt to make when the girls are in school. One with a bunch of fun applique squares. I think this square you made would be lots of fun in there!
