You know what they say about rabbits.........the Easter Bunny has a friend. Meet Hugo Bunny, close relative apparently of Rambo Bunny. He's still waiting for his sword and machine gun. although he has already been on assignment in the wild garden of the Gephart. Tracking down and spying on a rather large ginger moggy........my poor assistant will never forgive me for creating this one.

It's seems like the second I wrote that the thrift store in our town never yielded any treasures, I struck gold. My find occurred a few weeks ago, but for reasons unknown I have been reluctant to share, but I love this little beauty. I don't know why. I find myself purposefully going in the sewing room to pick it up and admire it. Open the little latch and peek inside. I am fairly certain it is vintage '60s. It's labeled "British HongKong", not that that confirms it's vintage, but I am sure it is.
Have I lost it with this one? I swear the photos don't do it justice. It's in remarkable condition, just a tiny tear in the lining. I think I paid $3.00 for it - a real bargain in my books. I clearly remember spying it in the store, slinking over and quickly grabbing it - almost thought it was too good to be true. Most certainly at some point I will use it, not for work though - the five other employees (all woman) already think I am loony.
So, what's the verdict my reading jury????
Oh and if you know more about these types of bags, please let me know. I have tried to research but have come up empty handed.

It's done! Actually it's been done for about two weeks, but I've been too lazy to go get it out of the car every time I think about doing a post on it. The nano second it was done, Little J scooped it up and used it on a chilly morning commute to school.
It's not my choice of colours, but this is for Mr. VW and he chose the colours. So if it makes him happy, it makes me happy that I was able to crochet it for him. So, you may ask, what does Mr. VW think about this woolly goodness? Wouldn't you love to know! Me too!!!! He never said a word when I did a little ta-dah moment with him.... Oh well, that's men for you!
I really enjoyed the rhythm of hooking a ripple. Can't wait to start another one! Just have to convince Mr. VW there really is a global blanket shortage so he can fund the next one!

I've had this image in my head for a while. My sewing machine that I use for applique has been giving me grief, so I was reluctant to even attempt it for fear that it would be 'eaten' by my fickle piece of modern plastic machinery. Well it made it all the way to the stippling top stitch before it went on a rampage. Thankfully my wonderful old blue metal clunker machine came to the rescue! God bless the sewing machine craftsmanship of the 1950's!

We've just walked in the door from an exhausting, but enjoyable weekend down at the In Laws summer house - I've mentioned it a couple of times before. It's been sadly neglected for 15 years and in need of some serious love. So while Mr. VW shared his love with a home filled with many summer childhood memories, Little J enjoyed some beach time and I engaged in many hours expanding my bum while enjoying the views! ☺ As mentioned earlier, we just walked in the door and quite frankly I am knackered! So I will leave you with just images - brain to tired to think of more words.

With help from these instructions, inspiration from Louise and determination inspired by Jane, the Easter Bunny arrived at our house late last night!
I might note she was a little shocked to see the state of the house - little housework and family tendering has taken place since I received her instructions last Monday. ☺
It's shocking what you can learn from the Internet, doubly shocking that I had the determination and stick-with-it-ness to actually finish this project! Of course I had the basics of knitting, casting on/off, knit and perl. Once long ago I knitted a cardigan - well I knitted the basic stitches, my poor patient Mum knitted all the tricky bits.
I might try to knit something else now I think I can read a pattern, although I still prefer my crochet.
P.S. - Save yourself the horror, don't zoom in on these photos ☺ still haven't perfected knitting just yet.

Little J and I were up and out early today. I took advantage of the school holiday and decided to take the day off work. Our destination today - the thrift store. Still ever hopeful it will yield some treasures. Today we found this lovely yellow bowl. Just perfect for Mr. VW's peanut butter M & Ms - not that they are around very long before they are scoffed up - Mr. VW LOVES them! ☺
Not sure how old this bowl is, maybe 1940's? Sort of resembles my ball jugs. Anyway, I really love it!
Then my favorite treasure discovery! Fabulous buttons! These are just a tiny handful of the plastic box full of buttons (100's of them) I bought for $2.50. I had quite a bit more fun than I should have searching through them and laying out a little rainbow of buttons and finding favorites.
Love this big pink button with it's flowers. Makes me wonder what type of garment it was on?
Love this limey green jelly like one. Looks like a drop of jelly.
Not sure I'll ever have a use for all these buttons, but they'll be fun to search through!
♥ Happy Easter ♥
