It's 9:20pm, I'd like to say the kids are tucked up in bed, but that would be a lie.  I sure wish I was, because then I wouldn't be distracted, the type of distraction that means I'm adding to my list of projects
Will I ever learn?

p.s. has anyone tried this "Blogger in draft" business?  I think I might quite like it, still deciding....

Around the Edge

Well after 8 months I am finally working on the edge of my Birthday Blanket. I lost interest in it for a while, which i now realize was a shame - Little J choose this yarn for me as a birthday pressie last December, so it is very special and I realize now how much I love it! Although with this blistering hot weather, I have to strategically position the blanket so it's well away from me while I crochet! Hopefully I'll have it finished in the next week - that is if I can keep the knitting needles at bay as they have been calling for me!
Happy Thursday folks!
P.S. Sorry to complain about the hot weather again, but it is really exhausting. :-S

Another quiet, sweltering hot Sunday here at the Gephart and I have just spent a few minutes pondering back on crochet projects of the last year. Quite a few of them I think, some I had nearly forgotten about! Quite a few I think I have missed too. But nevertheless, fun to look back on.
Things have been relatively quiet here lately, I think the ongoing heat is melting our brains. I apologize to all of those who's wonderful blogs i visit on a regular basis that I haven't left more comment recently. I do try to drop by daily when I am on break at work, but I'm not permitted to comment from my work computer - it's a bit like you can look but don't touch! Not much going on with fabric or yarn these days, just to blinking hot to be honest! I really hope they get the weather sorted out shortly, I'm fully ready for winter!!

I found something amazing the other day while wasting my precious house cleaning hours surfing blog land and ignoring the dust bunnies as they scurried across the floor to multiply. Well really its actually someone who creates wonderful, beautiful and amazing things that made me have a mega case of the wanties!!!! So to ensure I'm not the only person suffering from this particular strain of the wanties virus, please stop by and visit her blog, she's fairly new to blogland, but with her amazing talent I'm sure everyone's gonna love her blog! Oh I guess I should include the link :-)
In addition to finding Melina's new blog, I found these amazing flowers in my garden. Isn't it amazing what you can get from a 20 cent packet of seeds?

Happy Monday!!!

Just What I Needed.....

Remember these squares? Squares made from my first ever pure wool yarn purchase? Well what else would you expect me to make with them! ☻
I really wanted to try felting this project, but I had no clue how much it would shrink? I just kept wondering, is it big enough?
What if i felt it and end up with a coin purse? No matter how far I searched the length and breadth of the Internet to find this answer - it remains a mystery to me. So as I am the worlds biggest chicken and didn't want my first project made of real wool to end up in the back of the cupboard, keeping all my other handmade bags company I just couldn't risk it. Anyhow, there is loads of yarn left, so I am working up courage to dip my toe in the felting pool....
Happy Friday!

A Four Hour Car Journey......

....during which this.....

....became this.
Which is exactly what you need when the weather is 103F :-) More lovely yarn was purchased again today at my LYS during their "Cats Away Sale" - two visits during one sale, time to lock up Mr. Plastic.

A Evening Ritual

We are still patiently waiting for some rain in our neck of the woods. The temperatures had cooled off a bit, but they are set to soar this weekend :-S So each evening my neighbor and I can be found watering and tending to our fading plants and vegetables. I don't particularly enjoying watering, I worry so much about how much water I am using, but I have found that spending this much time in contact with my plants that I get to see so many changes from one day to the next. We have both watched in awe as her newly planted gladiolus have bloomed. I was amazed to see the reflection of the water drops on them.
So I must run folks and tend to my watering chores this evening. We are off for a little jaunt this weekend, so they need a good soak to hold them over till Monday.
To my friends on this side of the pond or to anyone who celebrates this holiday weekend, Happy 4th of July!!!!!

Two Things on Thursday

Two things to make me smile this Thursday (along with the knowing that tomorrow is Friday, which means it's almost the weekend and even better this weekend is a looooooooong weekend!)
1. Punched Tin Cat made by Little J on a field trip to Bedford Village with school.
2. Wire Chicken Basket - thrifted for 50c and spray painted red.
Happy Friday folks!
